They're cute and we adore our kids so much while looking at their costumes and makeup for Halloween.

Yes, I suffered to much with an interrupting breathing, sometimes dozens of times during a single night. The result is very disturbing, because it is my first time to hear about SLEEP APNEA. Doctor told me that I have to wear CPAP(Continuous Positive Airway Pressure).  It look like this:

Isn't it weird to wear this during sleeping? A clunky apparatus prevents sleep apnea by blowing air into a mask that covers the mouth and the nose.

There are two ways to rid SLEEP APNEA, one is to LOSE WEIGHT and the other one is to have SURGERY to remove excess tissue from the palate or throat.  But I am afraid of the surgery because of the side effects which usually comes after the operation.

Thanks to the technology now there are more ways to prevent/rid this condition. By using VAPORIN a product of EFFICASCENT OIL, smelling the refreshingly oil with aromatherapy it really soothes the senses.

AROMATHERAPY is an alternative medicine that uses plant materials and aromatic plantoils, including essential oils. The essential oil is a proprietary blend of six pure, potent and important oils for respiratory health.

Few months ago, as I am looking for a nice topic to write I came across a video post from a VBlogger LovelyTheresa1, talking about how to get rid of blackheads using GLUE!  Yes, you read it right, the exact glue we use at school, the good old ELMER'S GLUE.

First thing in my mind is, how SAFE is that followed by is it EFFECTIVE?

PORES are noticeable on our face, especially the T-ZONE, the forehead and the nose. Sizes of pores depends on what genes you have. According to studies, if you are a fair-skinned person your pores on the small side; while those who have olive or darker(morena)skin have larger pores. Your skin type is also one of the reason of having a blackheads or a whiteheads. Natural dry skin tends to appear pore less, while an oily skin often has more visible pores. 

*Know first your skin type. I have a combination type of skin, some areas of my face are normal but in my T-ZONE area I have an oily skin.

We all know that SKIN SENSITIVITY is not just a matter (especially our face) of what we put on our skin. Irritation and allergy are some of the factors that affect skin sensitivity, the likes of artificial perfume, dyes, and harsh chemicals.  A bit skeptical with the ELMER'S GLUE videos I saw from different Beauty VBloggers saying that GLUE can clean our dirty pores.  Need to find out for myself the real effect of the said tips.

I have already a glue in our house, though, I began to doubt my resolve upon reading the back part of the glue. Nothing indicated there that it is good for the faces. Oh well, bad idea indeed.

I try to figure it out, it says WASHABLE, NO RUN and most of all SAFE and NON-TOXIC! Let's do it...curiosity made me do it. Hahahaha..... 

I wash my face first with warm water to open up my pores. Apply a light amount of glue over my problem areas (and make sure to go past the creases where your nose and cheek meet) . And wait for 15 minutes to dry.

I don't have blackheads, but I got a smattering of tiny brown spots and lots of a whiteheads.

Since my post is all about the GLUE and how it can clean dirty pores, I need to see also the effect of it to me having only whiteheads and tiny brown spots.

ELMER'S GLUE is water based, hydrophyllic.BLACKHEADS are oil.

After 15 minutes it dries up, you can see the transparency of the glue.

A few minutes later, I am done tugging it. It look like this, a sample picture:

NO FILTER

It really clean pores, my whiteheads are gone and my nose is so smooth (no more spiky thingy in your nose as you rub it with your finger). Wash immediately with cold water to close the pores and put moisturizer after.

I plan on doing this three times per month until my skin looks healthy again. I mean smooth and radiant, no more whiteheads.

Is it SAFE?  Yes, if you're not allergic to glue.  If you will try this and after applying to your nose you feel crying because of the fumes...STOP and WASH your FACE immediately, it means you have "GLUE ALLERGIES".

What a great satisfaction in my part that I have engage myself to a pretty experiment. Though I know some of you will be hesitant to try this stupid beauty secret with ELMER'S GLUE. Hahahaha....stupid but fun taking off the glue to your nose, it's like your playing in school with sticky glue in your hands.

Hey guys!  Got a wonderful news, remember my post about Elmer's Glue for cleaning your dirty pores?  Oh well, it reaches 3000+ views and I am extremely thankful to you all.  I am very grateful to all those who took the time to read my post and write to me via email saying they've tried it and affirming that my post is very effective. Thank you so much!

This time I'm going to share another DIY beauty regimen that I am pretty sure your gonna love it!

As I promise, that I will post about DIY BROWN SPOT TREATMENT. I am not sure if you have tried this and it does not work, I suggest repeating this will help you convince once more that this regimen is really effective.

Asian women are known for their delicate BEAUTY, SMOOTH and having that FAIR SKIN. Right?  That is why I am so in touch with the ORIENT WAY of SKIN LIGHTENING having it NATURAL or TRADITIONAL beauty regimen.

One of these remedies that I just discovered and used for almost a month now is the RICE POWDER and RICE WATER. Really effective? Find our for yourself.

HOW EFFECTIVE IS RICE POWDER FOR SKIN LIGHTENING?

• Rice contains a high concentration of Para AminoBenzoic Acid(PABA). This is good as SUN SCREEN.

• Rice also contains two other sun protecting agents:
  
  (1) FERULIC ACID -an antioxidant that when added with the solution of Vit. C and E will doubles its PHOTOPROTECTION of our skin. 
  
  
  (2) ALLANTOIN - a good inflammatory agent.  It soothes sun burns and help promotes skin repair.

• Another thing here as a rice paste applied to your skin, rice powder has been shown to inhibit tyrosinase. TYROSINASE an oxidase that is rate -limiting enzyme for controlling the production of melanin.

DIY RICE MASK for SKIN LIGHTENING and BROWN SPOT TREATMENT as well.

1. 1 cup of Uncooked Rice.  Grind using a coffee grinder.  Or you can buy a ready made rice powder.
2. Add evaporated milk. Enough just to make a paste.
3. Apply the paste over your face and neck.  Leave for 20-30 minutes.
4. Wash it with warm water.
5. Do this consistently at least twice a week until your skin lighten.

*Rice paste will not only lighten your skin but also helps smoother complexion and make your skin achieve fewer wrinkles.

DIY RICE WATER TONER for SKIN LIGHTENING

Want to have that fair and more translucent skin? By washing your face with rice water you can achieve that, not dramatically but you will see the result within a month.

So easy to do, if you are planning to cook the

rice for you meal, do this: 

1. Put the rice in a rice cooker bowl. Wash and clean the rice.
2. Second washing of the rice, it should look pretty cloudy.
3. Drain this water to another bowl.
4. Be sure that you already EXFOLIATE your skin with scrub or wash cloth, so that the rice water will be absorbed well. Splash the "RICE Water" over your face as your toner.
5. Do not towel dry after washing. Leave it damp to air-dry on its own.
6. Result depends on how you do it.  Much better to do this steps twice a week and you will see the result after a month.

Rice Water is SAFE to use. The Ferulic Acid in rice is not a strong acid. However, about skin sensitivity issue just use your own judgement after all everyone has different skin types.

*If you still have a left over rice water (unused), keep refrigerate

Planning your party looks already? In my case, my group decided to have a THROWBACK THEME PARTY wherein we have to copy the looks from the '20's or the GATSBY LOOK DAYS, the '30's and so forth. The problem is until now I don't know what to wear or what to do with my hair & makeup.

Parties here and there means food here and there too! Right?  Don't worry there are simple and some easy tips that will help you beat your weight gain if you will religiously follow this it will make you lose weight in a week.

Drink Water

When you feel that you are hungry drink water. People sometimes mistaken thirst for hunger and I am guilty for that. Drinking water helps you feel full, before you go to a party why not sip a glass of water first to add volume and weight to your meal.


Count to 10

Craving last for 10 minutes.  So if you feel that you are craving for food just count 1 to 10, be busy for a 10 minutes break, instead urging yourself to eat why not write something or do a sense of accomplishment.


Eat more often 

As I said from my past post, don't SKIP MEALS. Eight every 3-4 hours with a Light Meal. This will curbs your appetite but help boost your energy, improve moods and even speed your metabolism.


Setting goals and weekly resolutions 

Be discipline enough if you set a goal. It's like that you are making your TIME MANAGEMENT. Every hour is precious, so make your time fruitful. Having a weekly resolutions, by eating at least one piece of fruits daily, every week will help you loss weight.


Add your meal with salsa

Here you can add SALSA to your meal because this spicy condiments can stand in for MAYO that deliver plenty of flavors without the FAT. 

"Salsa dancing is great in losing weight too!"


Easy with alcohol intake 

Alcohol is a source of calories, it has 150 calories for BEERand 85calories for a 1 glass/125ml of a red wine. The more alcohol intake the risk of gaining weight.

TIPS:   

1. Don't drink on an empty stomach. 
2. Choose sandwich instead of crisps or chips. Or choose a chicken burger without a mayonnaise instead of kebab with garlic sauce.
   
3. Avoid drinking rounds, studies says that drinking rounds can mean you end up drinking more.  Drink out at your own pace.
   
4. And if your drinking WHITE WINE, add a splash of soda water to help lower the content.  A glass of a white wine has 77 calories.   

Bottom line here is that if you want to stay healthy for the coming year 2015 and you're trying to lose weight, STICK WITH WATER.

Have you ever wonder where the couple shirt started? Let's go back with the T-shirt History.

Way back before 1920's, T-SHIRT already made a name in textile and fashion industry, as the first worn underwear called "Long Johns" (long underwear) or thermal underwear. It is a style of a two piece underwear knitted as one-piece clothing with long legs and long sleeves that normally worn during cold weather, commonly worn by the people in cold countries. 

And because people love to experiment everything, they saw an alternative way of designing knitted union shirt. Carefully shaped from a difficult cut and sew style of shirt to a shirt that can be worn comfortably using a cloth made of cotton.

The T shaped shirts that we use today actually started in Europe, it was copied by the American soldiers during WW 1. During that time American soldiers used woolen uniforms, which are very difficult to wear every time they will have military exercises. When they saw that the European soldiers were being issued T-SHIRT as their standard uniforms, they were envied and suggested wearing light cotton shirts to make them move quickly. And the rest is history.

Today, we see lot's of shirts with different styles. This is accordingly with beliefs, culture and traditions, as well as the aspiration to inspire each individual to come up with their artistry and craftsmanship in dealing with shirts designs, one of these is the CUSTOM MADE COUPLE SHIRTS.

For almost a year, writing a blog post about fashion, it's all about female territory - - in fashion with a capital F. What we usually think of is that Fashion is for WOMEN and Sports is for MEN, but waking up and dressing in is not only for women, but also for men considering we need to see what works with the woman that doesn't work with a man.

The contrasting world of Women's and Men Fashion is not new to us. Unfortunately, what ever have said about the two is being misunderstood, comparing man and woman in general.

Now, let us combine the two -- MEN and WOMEN Fashion Worst advice you ever heard that you should know and avoid in the future.

DRESS DOESN'T MATTER. I know you usually heard this thing, especially if you are into fashion thingy.

It doesn't matter how you dress, what matter's more is who you are inside(your personality and attitude) that really counts. 

Really? Well, it can boost up self-esteem especially if you are in doubt about what you wear or you feel uncomfortable wearing it but the truth is not that great.

How you wear your clothes well tell people who you really are. Remember the quote, FIRST IMPRESSION LAST, so if you are in an interview or in a fashion business, or in a gathering if anyone sees you how you project with confidence and you feel good about yourself, they will see you as a professional and have that positive view of your life.

Clothes you wear, a sign of what type of person you are!

BUY EXPENSIVE CLOTHES, IT IS MORE FASHIONABLE AND FIT YOUR SIZE. An exaggerated advice that is not true. There are clothing line that are not expensive but gives you satisfaction in terms of comfort and styles. What you need here is QUALITY clothes that are fashionable to wear but not that expensive.

TRENDING CLOTHES YOU ARE IN. After the size and the styles comes the TRENDS issue.  TRENDS are the lingua franca of Fashion, this is where you are called you "BELONG" if you're wearing what is IN and VIRAL in terms of FASHION. If you know the motto:
"What is very now can very suddenly become very then." But for my say here, even if you are not following what is trending as long as you are comfortable wearing your clothes it doesn't matter at all. Know your comfort, get that attitude.

Wear it with confidence, even if you are OUT of TRENDS.

I really hate this, LARGE CLOTHES MAKES YOU SLIMMER. I am one of the victims as well. I remember someone told me that if I wear large clothes it will give me a slimmer figure. Because of my writing and research I found out that large clothes don't make you look like you're slimmer they just make you look like you are wearing clothes that doesn't fit! Better know your sizes well and look for a good couturier. 

Despite of desperate move and restless ebb and flow of trends about fashion, let us generally think that garments is admired both men and women. 

The real purpose is not to clash the two genders but helping them to send messages by giving them right advice's that will work to boost self-confidence. Whether men will think they're hot or not, the real lesson here is that women's fashion holds for men too, so whatever worst advice you make it affects the whole... it's barely about us all.

When you look at yourself in the mirror, what do you see?  

Looking at the mirror, your eyes immediately see the imperfections. Unattractive, Fat, Flabby, Ugly nose, crater face, mouth is too small, undefined eyebrows, eyes so small or big and the list go on and on. These are the common words that hurts and you answer back, "So what! I don't care about my appearance because I have more important things to worry about". And that is the common ways we try to comfort the pain inflicted by others.

When we talk about BEAUTY the first thing that comes in our mind is the outer appearance wherein you want to look and feel good, but the society is changing the thought what beauty truly is.  They come up with so many beliefs or myths:

1. If they don't fit in a certain genre, they are not attractive - just like believing to be THIN is IN! And all you have to do is to spend money just to lose weight, the result is either good or bad depends on what kind of methods you use and this is dangerous because it will not just damage your savings but also your mind and body.
   
   Thin is BEAUTIFUL and you will be POPULAR! This is hilarious myth I ever heard. Does this mean that fat girl are not beautiful and not popular? Observe your sizes. I think people have to realize that being thin is not always healthy and fat is not always overweight. I agree that physical beauty comes in all shapes and sizes, and losing weight is having to do with your health and not to physical aspects. And for me, Popularity has nothing to do with the size, it comes within a person. Intelligence, Good ethics and personality carries the most weight to become popular.
   
2. Do not eat so that you will have a fast weight loss to become sexy. I've always emphasize in my past blog that don't skip meal, you have to eat every 3 to 4 hours. Dieting is not about not eating. To diet is to discipline yourself in the way you eat properly with guidance and have a nutritional facts. This is the proper way to make your metabolism active, and by losing weight is to exercise and eat properly 3 reasonable meals a day and 3 small healthy snacks in between.
3. Lose an excessive amount of weight. The problem of most of us when we talk about losing weight we are pertaining only with the weight itself.  "I HAVE TO LOSE A TREMENDOUS AMOUNT OF WEIGHT"...and all you have to do is to exercise and exercise without looking and not targeting the problem areas first. This is NOT CORRECT! You have to focus what is needed, little things really count. For example, if your problem is your waistline then start there. Losing a few inches of your waistline will give you a big difference in the size and fitting of clothes.
4. The most obsess in losing weight are only women! I strongly disagree! I have a male friend who is obsess in losing weight and become muscular. Nowadays, both genres are already conscious with what they eat and what they look like.  Men are now showing their intense regarding losing weight and become sexy. They want to be the eye candy in the society, by showing their six packs and the strength they have in going to the GYM. Men are obsess about weight as much as women in a different aspects.
5. Plastic Surgery can fix you! Oh well, this is true in a physical sense, it really can fix you, but it makes you of who you're not. Always remember that God made us PERFECT and whatever attention you have because you feel that you're not pretty and you have to change yourself by surgery, just inculcate this in your mind, "though surgeon can fix your face, hips, etc...the scars inside will never leave you"...For me, I have to deal with it. Let myself deal my imperfection and not the society judge me for what I am or not our physical attributes.
   Guys remember PLASTIC SURGERY can be ADDICTIVE. Once you POP, you can STOP! When you fix something in your body you will see another imperfection you will keep on doing it just to have that PERFECTION.
6. Pluck grey hair and many more will appear. This is not true. Based on my experience, been plucking my grey hair since my early 30's but now that I am in my late 30's grey hair are minimal. According to a Trichologist to the stars Philip Kingsley, "The myth probably originated because when hair starts greying, each follicle next to it is already beginning to produce a grey hair".
7. Use steam to open pores. We usually see this at a salon, especially if you are into facial cleaning. STEAM will just help loosen the dirt inside our face, so let us be clear hear. I've been a believer of that, that the steam or warm water can open our pores. But just now, as I do my research steam is just to help loosen the dirt for easy cleaning. Pores are enigmatic things and many of us are confused as to their exact purpose apart from steam to open pores and the fear to make it bigger if it will not be closed. Pores don't have a muscles or hinges no amount of steam or cold water will open and close them. What a silly misconception is that...hahahahaha....So whatever beauty therapist tells us about that DO NOT BELIEVE.
8. Skin is clean when it squeaks. This is a way far to believe. Not true! The truth is that when you see your skin is squeaking it only mean that you use a wrong cleanser for your skin type.  Your skin is not comfortable with the cleanser or you're over-doing it that is why is squeaking to breaking.
9. Shaving will make hair grow thicker. Sometimes we blame our razor for the thick hair, but the truth is because the razor cuts the hair straight across the shaft which is why stiff hairs growing feels stiffer.
10. Too much lipstick and wearing it a lot can darken your lips. I don't think so!  I am a lipstick person and I am wearing red wine and orange colored lipstick 5-6 days/week for the past 15 years, but still my lips are pink pale and sometimes my father will say - - "ARE YOU OUT OF BLOOD". Lipsticks sit on top of our lips and should not absorbed by the skin in any significant way. And not to mention, that our lips, like the rest of our body are consistently regenerating and our lips regenerate skin the faster.
11. Alcohol dries your skin.  Fear not ladies, this is not true. Alcohol use in cosmetics are just minimal, and will not dry or damage our skin.
12. Drinking water hydrates your skin. I heard so much of this, especially for those active in exercising and for those who are into the outfield working. But in reality, the water does not actually make it into your skin. According to Dr. Dendy Engelman, a dermatologist and a cosmetic surgeon in New York City, "Drinking water doesn't correlate with skin hydration unless one is extremely dehydrated". Our skin has its own water through natural oil production. For having a nice skin you can add moisture to the skin through creams, lotions or oils.
13. Bleaching is good for teeth to whiten. There no such thing as TOO WHITE. Excessive whitening can make the teeth translucent, so no need to use bleaching trays and whitening strips just to make your teeth to be super white. Take good care of your teeth because it is the first thing that can be seen in our physical appearance. NICE TEETH means NICE SMILE.
14. Trimming hair and combing hair 100x can make your hair grow faster. An urban myth, that I usually heard from my mother. If you trim your hair looks fuller and healthier, just like by combing hair 100 times a day it will make your hair grow faster. Well, this myth need to stop!    

You're not living in the past, you should think that we are now living in the 21st century so STOP FOLLOWING and BELIEVING all of these common misconceptions about BEAUTY and LOSING WEIGHT, be a SMART WOMAN now!
